POSITION TITLE:
(Remote-Subcontractor) Digital Forensic Examiner – Call Detail Records (CDR) Expert
Manzo Digital Forensics & Investigations (MDFI) is recruiting for a highly experienced Criminal Investigator - Digital Forensic Examiner.
OUR CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Experience processing, analyzing and reporting on Call Detail Records (CDRs) using software such as CellHawk or Traxx
- Familiarity with digital forensic tools such as EnCase, AXIOM or Oxygen Forensics
- Advanced certifications in digital forensics to include, SCERS, GCFA, GCFE, SCERS, EnCase Certified Examiner, IACIS, CCME or equivalent training
- Four years of recent (within the last ten years) full-time criminal investigative experience; AND
- Two years of work experience as a digital forensic examiner; AND
- Extensive knowledge of the principals and methods of law enforcement investigations
- Experienced with methods of collecting, processing and analyzing digital forensic evidence
- Testimonial Experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying laws and policies, in addition to exercise confidentiality with sensitive case information.
- Ability to provide accuracy and attention to detail with stating facts clearly, concisely, objectively, and with correct English grammar both orally and in writing; when preparing written reports, memoranda and statements
- Ability and willingness to travel away from home (rare)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct forensic data processing and analysis of digital forensic data seized by law enforcement agencies
- Independently conduct digital forensic investigations, including data preservation, data recovery, and analysis through the use of specialized expertise
- Review search warrants and affidavits to ensure that all items of a pertinent nature were encompassed within terms of the warrant
- Reviews and provide analysis of all aspects of investigations including the search, seizure, collection, preservation, and analysis of digital forensic evidence recovered from crime scenes and provide expert testimony in these matters
- Verify the integrity of digital forensic evidence was safeguarded utilizing a chain of custody and evidence handling techniques known to be effective by law enforcement. For example, airplane mode, faraday bags and proper identification and transportation
- Prepare properly documented findings that are admissible in court and easy to understand by non-experts (when requested)
- Serve as subject matter expert on technical matters relating to digital evidence and testify in court or at hearings as an expert witness
