Brandon Manzo Sr. is a highly trained and award winning retired Federal Agent with approximately 14 years of experience performing criminal, civil and administrative investigations with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Command (CID). Approximately 10 years of this experience included conducting timely and accurate digital forensic examinations as a certified Digital Forensic Examiner in support of felony investigations worldwide.

As an Agent and Digital Forensic Examiner, Mr. Manzo was fortunate enough to be selected to work highly sensitive and multi-agency investigations, along the way receiving awards for his dedication to duty and performance. Mr. Manzo’s examinations routinely resulted in key investigative findings, including Modus Operandi (MOs), digital admissions of guilt, and other supporting evidence. Mr. Manzo also has extensive experience investigating extremely sensitive and classified programs for the Department of Defense.

Upon retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer in 2016, Mr. Manzo took his law enforcement experience and digital forensic knowledge to the civilian sector, creating Manzo Digital Forensics & Investigations (MDFI). Today, Mr. Manzo serves as the Founder and Principal Consultant at MDFI, where he continues to provide digital forensics and consultation services to clients throughout the United States and abroad.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Beginning in 2009, (then) Special Agent Manzo conducted examinations of various types of digital media to include computers, cell phones, DVDs, external storage media and various gaming systems and became a court accepted expert in the area of digital forensics. During this tenure, Mr. Manzo received and maintained the integrity of thousands of evidence items. He also planned, organized, and devised approaches necessary to obtain useful forensic information from the evidence submitted. Mr. Manzo prepared many formal written reports detailing interpretations of digital forensic findings and included professional opinions and conclusions.

Mr. Manzo later earned the designation of a Senior Digital Forensic Examiner (SDFE). This role included the added responsibility of providing routine training and daily guidance to over 60 Federal Agents in all digital forensic matters. This guidance included the review and approval of incoming Forensic Laboratory Examination Requests and related documentation including Search Affidavits, Search Warrants, Preservation Letters, Consent forms, Evidence Property Custody Documents, and Final Forensic Investigative Reports prior to their distribution.

Mr. Manzo was recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and personally conducted hundreds of digital forensic examinations requiring coordination with and briefing of military commanders, prosecutors, state’s attorneys, local law enforcement and intelligence agencies. As part of his responsibilities Mr. Manzo was called upon to travel to various CID Offices in numerous states to conduct official inspections of digital media processing operations and to provide training to case agents to ensure proper collection of electronic evidence. He also shared the responsible for the management, maintenance and operation of the entire digital forensic laboratory located on Fort Hood, TX.
